The 30th Annual Conference of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE 2025) took place on June 16-19, 2025, in Bergen, Norway. The conference brought together colleagues working on empirical and theoretical research in all areas of environmental and resource economics on a variety of themes and using different methodological approaches.
DIAMOND partner SEURECO joined a session on “Climate damages and adaptation”, presenting work on estimating climate damage functions by type of impact across EU countries, focusing on nine distinct climate-related damages and their varying implications for each Member State. The work is expected to feed into the development of NEMESIS-World, one of the six core IAMs that DIAMOND is upgrading and updating—also considering that the improvement of the representation of climate damages in IAMs was a topic of interest identified throughout our project’s stakeholder dialogues.
By joining forces with the IAM-COMPACT project, project coordinator colleagues (ICCS) also presented ongoing work on the impact of cost of capital assumptions on decarbonisation pathways.
