2023 GCAM Annual Meeting

The Joint Global Change Research Institute’s (JGCRI) annual ‘GCAM Community Modelling Meeting’ was held virtually on June 6-8, 2023.

The Meeting provides a forum for the GCAM community to share and promote the exploitation of the latest developments and current uses of GCAM. For those new to GCAM, the Meeting continued to serve as an excellent in-depth opportunity to learn and gain a better understanding of the model.

DIAMOND partners from BC3, UMD, and ICCS actively participated in the three-day workshop, paving the way for the introduction of GCAM-Europe, which was notably referenced as a promising next step, to the community.

Colleagues Claudia Rhodes, Jon Sampedro, and Dirk-Jan Van de Ven (BC3) also presented their respective GCAM-related advancements in the poster session with the following studies:

  • gcamreport: An R tool to Process and Standardise GCAM Outputs
  • Residential Energy Demand, Emissions, and Expenditures at Regional and Income-decile Level for Alternative Futures
  • Implementation of Current Policies in GCAM

More information on the conference and the model can be found here and here, respectively.
